The editor wrote, "I searched the web for book cover designers, and looked at a lot of people's work. I was most impressed with the artwork of Duncan Long. I felt it was head and shoulders above what most cover designers were doing.

"I contacted Duncan and shared my ideas for a book cover. He listened to what I had to say, and later that day emailed some great options for accomplishing what I wanted. He also provided expert advice and insights relating to colors, design of lettering, arrangement of cover text with artwork, etc.

"When I saw the draft cover he had done, I was thrilled. He had created a very striking, attention-grabbing cover. Then, after he finished, and I saw the degree of detail, shading, etc., I knew I had gotten the best cover I could have asked for.
