A Book Illustration Looking for a Home
filed in Book Artwork and Illustrations on Nov.25, 2010
Thanksgiving Day here in the US… Not working on holidays is tough for me – I love doing what I do for a living. That said, this has been a great year in terms of having work to do, something many in the US can’t say this year. So I have much to be thankful for, and hope those without work will soon be in the same boat I find myself in.
OK… So I cheated a little and stayed up late last night to create this book illustration looking for a home: “Where My Scattered Thoughts Do Go.” Hopefully that will get me through the celebration. Or at least until I sneak out and do a little work on the sly. In the meantime, this is an illustration looking for a home at the moment; I hope it will be gracing a novel soon (inquiries welcome).
Happy Thanksgiving to those in the US — and for the rest of the world: Have a great day!

If I wrote YA fiction, I could write a whole book around this girl. Her hair and shoulders are evocative, and her eyes are perfect. I wish I had the time!

I see a twisted story about a girl who falls in love with her captor. Her hands are obviously tied behind her back and she’s driving her captor crazy enough to want to let her go. She’s begging him not to. Lol.

@ AJ Vega: Now there’s a seriously twisted story plot – ha. Yet, I have a feeling something like that would make a really interesting psychological thriller, a sort of frightening variation on the Ransom of Red Chief, with openings for anything from humor to a blood fest horror yarn.

Ha. The title would be “Captive Love”.
The kidnapper ends up kidnapping another girl and the first girl gets jealous and tries to kill her cause she wants to be the only captive love. Story ends with her handcuffing herself to her dead lover inside his coffin. ;)

@ AJ Vega: Great, now you’ve ruined the story for all of us and I suppose you aren’t going to buy the illustration for a book cover, either – ha.
Seriously, one twisted little story. Wouldn’t be surprised if someone, somewhere were sharpening a pencil to make this plot into a movie script.
