“Elfin Dreams In Autumn” is an old painting, but seems suitable for this time of the year.

Except for the ears (and perhaps the predilection for sleeping in leaves) she is the spitting image of a friend of mine, as she looked at about that time.
Would you have painted her in the same way today, Duncan?

Good question…. And without actually re-doing the picture, I’m not sure that I would have painted it this way. I do know I would have painted it a whole lot faster. It took me perhaps a week to do this. Now it would likely be a day or so of work. I am not sure what accounts for my faster working speed today. Probably less trial and error, and the craftsmanship that develops over time. It is always good to realize you’ve made a little progress over the years.
