Another Book Illustration for A. I. Offspring

Here’s the back cover illustration for A. J. Vega’s science fiction adventure A. I. Offspring.
Interestingly enough, the spaceship design was created by the author who has no small talent as an artist (just don’t tell him or he’ll start doing his own cover illustrations).

Believe it or not, I too studied art and I do paint and draw quite well, but doing a book cover is a different story altogether. It’s not like executing a nice landscape, framing it and exhibiting at a local show… it’s got a different kind of life, travelling in tandem with a text, and playing a part in how that text starts to shape a story in a reader’s mind. Not easy.
Love the way you start your bottom bio tag with a related phrase, BTW.
